chang was the worst player at the masters in 89.he was the only player who didnt win a single match there.the 8 players at the masters were edberg,lendl,becker,agassi,krickstein,chang,mcenroe and one more i cant remember.

mac played like absolute shit FOR HIM
i am not comparing him to other players or to himself in his prime in '84
a few months earlier in the paris indoors, mac played at a level that couldve made him a contender at the masters, but he lost confidence after losing to becker in the semis
u r correct to point out he wasnt consistently brilliant throughout the match, as the vid only shows the HIGHLIGHTS, meaning u dont c the full shitty match, where mac played w/ no confidence in his shots

Yeah, absolute shit, and the first point of this video shows how somebody who plays like absolute shit can play so dinamic tennis and play volleys with such feel for space and for a ball. Just like in first points. Even nowdays players don't have such a feel when to go towards the net...Maybe he hadn't consistency in the whole match, but he never was playing like absolute shit...

If memory serves me right, McEnroe had his racket painted black (no sponsorship from Dunlop) and most likely the Snauwert logo was for the strings.
