  • @flickeringglampost when a referee or director says "pret" or "ready" it is supposed to be said as a question. Meaning you can say it when you you feel but you can't call fence or allez without the fencer have confirmed they're ready witch is why some people will say ready after pret

  • @ReReShow80 this how it's done in a REAL bout, classical fencing is just stuck up LARPing.

  • this ref pisses me off, hes calling "pret" when the guy's mask is off...

  • @ReReShow80 Yes, really its a change of emphasis. With the Electric box the emphasis is placed entirely on fixing the point and scoring. If you're fencing off the box, with judges, you need to make your actions very clear to make sure they've been seen.

  • @Voiv Makes me realize what makes classical fencing such a big deal to a lot of coaches I've met in KS and a few in MO. They said that fencing without the machine brings it all the way back to swordsmanship, to "what if these were sharp."

  • @ReReShow80 In a word: yes :P

  • This looks very different from the kind of fencing I've seen fencers practicing in a Salle. Much more frenzied, is that how it's done on the strip in a real match?

  • A pleasure to watch both fencers.
