Westrefelda Morris from Westerfield near Ipswich dancing Gypsy Roundhouse, a stick dance in the tradition of Upton-on-Calhoun (Minnesota, USA). The venue was the Angel Hill, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk on the occasion of the Joint Morris Organisations Day of Dance on Sunday 18th April 2010. Fantastic weather and great fun had by all.
The way the sticks are held during the step backs are different, the music is different, and we spell the tradition name differently (most people in the Minnesota Morris dance community spell it the way you do it). However, it's clearly the same dance and tradition. The pulstar is also different, but from what I understand, the way you do it is the way the team did it years ago (before I ever joined).
I have one huge question. How did this tradition get to England?

Cool! How did this dance travel from MInnesota? The sticks are slightly different from what we do, and we do the Pulsar as a 3, then 3 move.
