  • As we all know...there are no mistakes in woodturning....there are only design opportunities. And you were afforded one such opportunity.

  • @Buzzsawman Thanks buzz, I really need the encouragement. Especially now while I am trying to finish up two more projects this week. Great experience but slow to correct mistakes. Take Care.

  • I did it just right, didn't I? Scared the crap outta' me!

  • She turned out beautiful. Nice recovery from the catch and like Robbie said, just a design change.

    Take care,

    Carl

  • @haydenHD Thanks Carl. You know me I love the excitement! I really had a great time not knowing what I was doing. The great part is I learned my Lathe has a "Fail Safe". That's why it suddenly stopped when I got the catch.

  • How od you stop the lathe so fast after the catch, or was the video sped up? Not a bad result at all on the bowl.

  • @IrishWoodDoctor The video was playing real-time. The catch stopped the lathe immediately. I looked at the manual last night and discovered the lathe was built with a "Fail Safe".
