This was the last day of the King Kong Ride at Universal Studios Florida. I worked at Universal even before they opened and watched them build this ride. So many memories for me so I went to the last day it was opened just to ride it again.

  • To the person who posted this video. My mom worked in USO from 1995 to 2005 and we loved this ride. We were so mad when they closed it. I know how you feel.

  • @acciofirebolt29 I worked at the park as well. I watched them build the ride. I have some of the King Kong Hair from the Ape in my collection

  • @TELEVISIONARCHIVES why did they close it???

  • @Ajtorres88 I believe the cost was very high to run the ride.

  • @Tukarama Yeah, I was mad to see it go, but that doesn't mean I'm going to let that blind my judgement on The Mummy's Revenge; it's one of the best indoor rollercoasters in existence. If you still want to be mad about a bad replacement, take a sit on Stitch's Great Escape. Replacing Alien Encounter with bathrooms would have still been better than Stitch.

  • I am so glad I took my kids on this before it got shut down. And we bought the picture too :)

And if taking this out wasn't bad enough they replaced it with the Mummy! Worst ride ever... of any park!

  • I loved that ride. Sad that it is gone. :(

  • I love how you took that last shot of Kong towards the end of the ride. As if he was saying goodbye.... *sigh*

  • @TELEVISIONARCHIVES @TELEVISIONARCHIVES it was because it had to many technical difficulties, and all you have to do is buy 1 ticket for the whole park and you can ride all the rides you want.

If your tall enough of course.

  • I loved this ride too, and now they've closed Jaws....boo hoo!

  • omg lmao at the end 4:30- "Passengers narrowly escaped disaster at the hands on King Kong!"(everyone inside- "doo dee doo, look at that silly monkey, la la la") hahahaha.

  • I can still remember the banana breath when you get up close and personal with him. The last time I rode this ride was back in 2001. They just don't make them like they use too.

  • @klwwe23 totally agree. I never got to ride this ( I was 3 in 2002) If this could be remade somehow, I might visit the park more often. In my opinion they don't have anything like these rides anymore. It's sad.

  • My top favorite old rides
