Interview with GMB Steward at Wigan Remploy, Ronnie Foster, who explains what the Remploy workers' fight is about and why all of us should support them.
Ronnie was in Wigan town centre to support the Remploy Bike Ride from Burnley to London to raise greater public awareness of the Remploy workers' struggle and to hand to Government Ministers what they are hopeful will be a 100,000+ signature petition which would trigger a debate in Parliament on the issue.
Over 3,000 disabled workers' jobs in Remploy's 54 factories across Britain are threatened.
I know Ronnie he is a great GMB Steward for the Wigan Factory.
I worked in Wigan Remploy from 1967 till 2008 when I took volentry redundancy only for Remploy I would not have been able to work like Ronnie has said if you are disabled no one wants to know.
I think is is a shame that all Remploy Factorys are under threat and have been for a long while
Thank you Margaret Moore
