This video demonstrates how to fold the origami model "Scorpion" that Robert J. Lang designed. Robert kindly gave me permission to make this video accessible to you. It is a complex design, so only experienced folders should attempt it.

Diagrams for this model can be found in the book "Origami Insects and Their Kin" by Robert J. Lang

  • i think tadashimori is a little eaysier to make, and it's a bit more realistic(not that this vid is bad it's great)

  • @frunlakiso2 If you compare my old videos to his, yes, definitely. I think if you compare my more recent videos with his - I think it's a closer call. ;)

  • HOLY ****

I'm not a begginer but I can't understand what are you doing... it's so confusing and frustrating...You cover all your folds with your hands and we can see anything... you don't fold everything in front of the camera and we are supossed to guess what is going next... the quality is too low and the color of the paper is not uniform and is difficult to see the creases.... after 2 hours I give up.

I like your channel (and you) but you have to improve the tutorials (see jonakashima) gBye

  • @Blackwargreymon You should check my more recent videos. This one is over 3 years old, and I agree, the quality is bad. But I guess it's better to have *something* rather than nothing at all. That's why I decided to keep the old videos online.

  • @AdamsSara thanks for the reply... you're right, that's better... I'm going to check your more recent videos for sure ;). By the way... I didn't try to sound rude. It was only a constructive criticism (besides, this is not my first language :p) Good bye! And thanks a lot for your work Sara n_n

  • @Blackwargreymon No worries, I didn't feel attacked. I just wanted to clarify that the old videos aren't representative of my more recent work. ;)

  • hi ms sara :D we need to learn origami for the cover page of our ntbk in math so i tried googling about origami . by chance, i saw your video in a site and i tried it(its about origami scorpion). i find it hard since of course i'm basically just a beginner in this field but i hope to learn more about it and also to successfully complete this paper scorpion. thanks for this video and i hope you make more of this interesting origamis :D

  • I have been practicing origami for a couple of years I am familiar with terminology, but...the first minute is confusing, have no idea what "this one here goes here and this should be done here " while flipping the paper and such. Many of your videos have been useful but I gave up on this one. Sorry to say

  • you're *ahem* assets .... are kinda putting me off. But in a good way lol

  • can you make a tuturial of the wedge flexi cube because that one is bad screen and i cant hear you

  • I know this is a lot to ask of you but have you thought of making a remake? :)

  • @AdamSara my wrapping paper is so glossy. but i can't pick on those 2 origami scorpions. but what will i choose? the scorpion varileg, or the origami scorpion in your video.

  • @fairfresh ok.... get a life troll... I was talking with Sara (read her comments below), not with you!... I can fold Kamiya's Bahamut and Phoenix and I don't need to prove anything to a random youtube troll =).

  • @Blackwargreymon

Probably beacause you can't do it! But I think this video is great!

  • robert lang knows indeed the most complicated way to twist a sqare o_O

  • I think this model is great! I know it is quite hard to show some folds on camera. You are explainig everthing perfectly. If you have time, I suggest you should maybe redo it just like your recent videos! You don't have to I'm just saying. Don't do it if it is bothering you.

    Thanks
