Okinawa Japan Tropical Beach at the Ginowan Convention Center

This is the beach near my house on March 3rd it is starting to look like summer already
Located between the Ginowan Marina and the Okinawa Convention Center, Tropical Beach has numerous picnic tables. You can catch a game of beach volleyball or hang out with friends on the beach while having a BBQ.

Entrance:Free.
Parking:Free.

Facilities:Chairs: 200yen
Deck chairs: 500yen
Parasols: 500yen
Deck parasols: 1,200yen
Tents: 3,000yen
Picnic tables: 3,000yen double or1,500yen single
Showers: 100yen for 3 minutes
Lockers: 200.yen

Directions:From Naha Airport take Highway 58 north towards Nago. Turn left at the stoplight after the Mashiki intersection. Go straight through several streetlights until you see the Kankaimon (Welcome) Gate. Enter here. Plenty of free parking is available.

Robert, I'm in the same boat, my J family here in tokyo, 3 kids, are looking to move to okinawa, been exploring naha, hamby, mihama, sunabe, furugen, yomitan; a marine buddy tels me kakazu in ginowan has good schools and excellent community. wud liek to hear from you, thanks, cliffworksdotnet

@cliffworks4321 Hey yeah a seen that area Kakazu for the first time about 3 weeks ago It is easy to see the school from the main highway. I don't know much about it other than it looked to be new. I have not been is Okinawa in quit a well and don't remember this area. I really like the Mihama area with American Village which is great for shopping and there are New schools in that area also.Oh and it is near the Araha Beach with Sunset Beach Behind the Jusco Shopping center. Hi Robert,

I'll be coming to Okinawa next month and will be in Ginowan for a day for the BMO Music Festival. I saw your video from Tropical Beach and I wondered if you have any recommendations for things to do around Ginowan. Preferably close or inside the city or within walking or biking distance of the city, or reachable by bus.

Got married there in 2002... right venue, wrong woman, but I had enough time there with my jar-heads to make up for it... you should be there at sunrise with your best friends in the middle of August to crack a beer before going home to sleep away the God-awful Okinawa summer day...

This is a great insight for me. I have been looking into Okinawa for some time now however other than writings in books the place is somewhat hard to find good information from a persons perspective. Thanks alot !
