    I think you are have a far too romantic image of that period of time. Many horrible diseases were rife, there was a huge difference between rich and poor, and the smells you think you are smelling are definitely not the smells a common man would have smelled in Germany or England as in England the sewage system was only developed in the late 19th century. I value Handel as much as you do but we should thank our lucky stars we are living in the current era.

  • @krazykat2006 I think so too! I can see sights and even sense smells from that time! Or maybe our genes can store memories? I don't know. But I feel a sadness when I think of that period, like I belong there, if you know what I mean. I'm definetely born in the wrong time. I just don't seem to fit in.
