Excellent performance. Mr. Palvanov shows an exciting mastery of the piano. I don't think I've heard a better pianist. The Van Cliburn performance(s) were great from a clarity point, and real feel for the music. Mr. Palvanov even accelerates on the technically very difficult movements, with vigor and power, casually glancing at the conductor while his hands fly over the keys with great force. He knows this music upside down. What a terrific mastery of Rach. #2. BRAVO x 10.

Yeah...there's still just something about this guy. I think I'll sponsor his US tour. Probably my purpose in life, anyway

He has a Glen Gould aspect about him. And despite some minor challenges at 10:40, and his refusal to acknowledge the pianissimos, as Weissenberg does, and his failure to convey ominous foreboding at 09:40, this is nevertheless the most exciting performance of Rach 2 since Weissenberg, Richter, and the old Rubenstein/Reiner. Has all the great Horowitzian accentuation of sub-texts. Imagine this with proper audio. Will now listen to everything else that you've ever done...Bravo!
