Shooting the Russian PKM Machine Gun

This is the Russian PKM (Pulemet Kalashnikova) general purpose light machine gun. It fires the 7.62x54r cartridge and is reported to be one of the most realiable and deadlest in it's class of auto weapons. This weapon is extremely veritile and is encountured in the Soviet satalite states as well as Iran and Iraq. Rate of fire on this model is about 750rpm. The excess smoke is produced by the military surplus ammo that was used.

Amazing. What time period was this gun being used?

@Ca1861 The PK series light machine gun came about in the early 60's and this version shown is the moderized version which is still produced.

How precise is a gun like this? Could you still accurately hit a target with a single shot at range, or is this guns sole purpose directed suppression, deadly nonetheless.

@MrGermantim Very accurate even single shot. This gun does best when fired in short 5 - 7 rd burst.

@SSAirsoftowns Well it is a GPMG, but it doesn't fire nearly as fast and it's gas-operated (MG-42 is recoil operated).

@Ca1861 Last time I was in Afghanistan they were still shooting these things at us...if that's any indication. It's awesomely light and a handy weapon.
