When the extension of unemployment benefits squeaked through the Senate, there was a sigh of relief among those in need, and cheers from Democrats who have not been able to move the unemployment needle or restore confidence in the economy.
Putting money in the hands of wannabe consumers will create some bounce, but it doesn't deal with the deep structural and systemic problems that worry economists and governments worldwide. Distributed by Tubemogul.
Yes you are right. The steps taken are really small, but at least something ist happening, though I certainly am sure, that if Obama had not go into his wild fantasies about bipartisanship, which Reps never wanted, he could have achieved a lot more. Now with the elections coming up, it will be even less few steps. I am still disappointed, that Obama did not take Stiglitz and/or Krugman into his advisery board. While Krugman all along warned about deflation, most other people shouted "Inflation"

Thank you Danny, Very good. The small victory isn't going to be enough. It has been forty years of full frontal assault on the working class. Thanks again, GRITtv is great.
