Here we see a basic hydroponic setup growing tomato and pepper seedlings over a two week period.

These plants were grown using Sunshine Systems'™ GrowUFO™ (www.GrowUFO.com) LED grow light. Our LED lights use 80% less energy than traditional HID bulbs and emit virtually no heat.

The future of plant grow lighting is here.

  • NOTE: On day 3 we added the white background to reduce camera glare and filled the empty net pot with hydroton pellets for better aesthetics. This accounts for the visible change seen between days two and three. The empty net pot containing hydroton pellets appears to rotate slightly from day to day. This is a result of removing the net pot to check the pH balance in the nutrient solution. Happy Growing!

  • Hey that's really cool! I can't wait to see the next one. It was nice talking with you guys today. You were very helpful.

  • WOW that truly is amazing! So it grew only on LED and nothing else?...Cause I thought you would need some natural light..but if this is true then I can grow plants away from the window all year round!!

  • time to grow some weed

  • I like that you made a reflective wall and a white bottom.

Does LED effect the taste or health at all?

  • those lights are great, i know someone who grew a orange tree in their basement with them.. so there was NO natural light

  • Yes

  • Google MMJSpots, we now carry Sunshine-Systems LED's !

  • led dont barely give off heat

  • Is the energy used to grow the plants less tha the energy that can be obtained from them??? I want to get some guava been and LEDs and find out. If so I would like to collect millions for it.

  • the only thing you should worry about if its hot

  • I put the LED as close as 2 inches to the plants. Do you think its safe?
