Day at Slide Rock, AZ

From the first tape shot on the Canon HV30. Still learning how to hold still and not zoom for stupid reasons and let people leave the frame. The source footage has better colour, but I can't get the export settings right. You'll just have to trust me: the light and colour in this canyon was amazing.

From a June 23 letter:

"Hot air, cool water. Deep spots where the river pools before it moves on. The banks of smooth, not slimy, rock. You can get in slowly, dipping yourself into the easy tide, or you can climb the red sandstone cliffs and jump from any thrilling height."
