I used to ride Lambrettas, they are great its really cool that he`s got it going so fast. But lets be realistic, it is BLOODY silly to say its a superbike beater though. It`s best ever time is a 13.5 sec 1/4 mile, most litre superbikes run low 10`s, ie an R1 will do it in 10.3, consistently, straight out of the box in roadgoing trim with no mods. Even mid sized commuter bikes will do a quicker 1/4 mile.

That's very true for today's modern sports bikes, I have a GSXR 600 which does sub 12 second runs, tongue and cheek spring to mind :)

wow that race was def rigged. u see the ferrari catch up and then all of a sudden the scooter get the fast and the furious nitrous gear and wins lol fake

How was the camera man keeping up with them on that lateral veiw? In a jet? ...If you actually think they were neck and neck at full throttle, get your head checked... The F40 was TOYING w/the bike.

As I was there when this was filmed I know the real storey.

The lateral view was done at slow speed because the camera car was a people carrier and obviously would not have kept up with either the scooter or the ferrari.

the views that tell the real story are the ones from behind, you will see that the scooter leaves the car well behind over the first 1/8 but although the cars top speed is higher than the scooter it could not catch and over take the scooter before the 1/4 miles finish line.

i think the lambretta was toying with the ferrari,just goes to show that big powerful engines are not the be al end all ,,,it's the way you ride them ,i know with my lambretta not many so called bikers would be able to ride my lambretta ,but i could ride most bikes ,,no problem !!!!!!!!!!!!!

The ferarri is no doubt geared for top speed so 1st is probably like 2nd, u find on competition car gearboxes thats often the case.

I've seen that Lammy beat a Fireblade on a sprint....but the Fireblade caught him on the last 75 metres......that Lammy can seriously move!

I know what a tuned 2 stroke is capable of and this is most likely not rigged at all. Lambrettas can move, and they held world speed records for years
