On September 17, Ric O'Barry Dolphin Project volunteers Tia Butt and Leilani Munter were on the ground in Taiji to monitor the dolphin slaughter featured in the Academy Award winning documentary "The Cove." The dolphins you see in this footage from the Taiji Whale Museum, were captured in The Cove and the rest of their pod was slaughtered. Dolphin captivity is a sham disguising itself as education when it fact, it is the exploitation and cruelty of an incredibly intelligent and self aware species. Please watch "The Cove" and think twice before you buy a ticket.

  • The Japanese are indescribably cruel.

  • @Imforthewhales do not discriminate and isolate one country on this issue - dolphin captivity happens all over the world, not just japan. the usa is a big offender as well. it is not one country, it is the whole world that supports this sham of "education" which is really animals doing stupid tricks for human entertainment so the parks can make a buck.

  • In the description to this video you caution people to think twice before purchasing a ticket to enter the Taiji Whale Museum, the museum from where you took this video. So are you stating you entered the museum to make this video illegally by not purchasing a ticket? Or are you saying you purchased a ticket to enter the museum to make this video making you a hypocrite? Just asking…..

  • @PropagandaBuster2 PUrchasing a ticket to document cruelty is very different from purchasing one for one's own "entertainment." Or is that too complex an idea for a "propaganda buster"?

  • @chaplaindl thanks, yeah i didn't purchase a ticket, i was filming from outside the gates from public property. this guy "PB2" is a jerk and trolls all my pages.

  • @PropagandaBuster2 i didn't purchase a ticket, i filmed from outside from public property and was not breaking any laws. ps. you're a dick.

  • soo cute i wanna kiss that dolphin

  • i also have animals at home. dog, cat and horse are not starved either but you can not compare domesticated animals with those far roaming ones, even if they were brought up in captivity

  • @destiny829 i do not want to generalize but MOST zoos etc. are like that, wherever in the world! and please do not compare your rabbits with captive dolphins: you give them treats as a positive reinforcement apart from their main food, MOST captive dolphins ARE starved to cooperate, the food they are getting looks like a treat in a show but MOSTLY it is part of their daily ration. puppy mills is a different story whatsoever, so no point bringing it up here.

  • @destiny829 also not all humans are the same the same goes for animals they all are unique with different traits and different feelings no two animals are the same.

  • @destiny829 maybe at this place they are but not in all places and don't forget every animal is different we can select certain animals showing certain traits and have them off spring with a animal that shows that kind of trait and most likely a couple of the litter will have that trait so some of these animals you see do tricks may actrually enjoy it

  • @jaquitaloca I have pet rabbits and not all zoos are like that just a fyi and my pet rabbits are not starved but still try and do what ever i try to teach them, to run a zoo and things like that in the usa you are inspected all the way. Go to a puppy mill tell me who has it better.

  • Did that floating dolphin commit suicide? :(

  • @destiny829 these animals do not want to learn, they are deprived of food so they "cooperate"!!

  • @destiny829 i do not think animals should be hunted or bought, if there land or the water they are in or they are injured then yes its okay to take them in but if chose to take it the habitat should be quit big since these animals live in big areas and need room also things they normally live with like fish (still alive)and such should be with them

  • i just want to put this out there yes teaching the animals to do tricks is mean but if the animal wants to learn then why not, some animals acrutally do like to have people around then some are frightened by it, also a lot of animals are becoming endangered species im not sure about the dolphin but i do know a lot of animals are being killed by humans and a lot of people say put them back where they came from if the water has oil and the land has no trees where do they go? but
