2011 Etappe 8: Schlanders/I im Vinschgau -- Latsch/I im Vinschgau
Mit der 8. Etappe von Schlanders nach Latsch stellen sich die Teilnehmer des GORE-TEX® Transalpine-Run 2011 der letzten Hürde auf ihrem langen Weg über die Alpen. Der letzte Schlenker der 30,20 Kilometer langen Route, die immerhin noch 1807 Höhenmeter aufweist, führt das Teilnehmerfeld in die Ausläufer der Ortlergruppe und damit in die insgesamt siebte Gebirgsgruppe der Ostalpen. Nach dem höchsten Punkt auf der Göflaner Scharte (2396 m) taucht bald schon das Ziel in Latsch auf, wo die insgesamt 273 Kilometer und 15436 Höhenmetern ihr heiß ersehntes Ende finden.

With the eighth stage from Schlanders to Latsch, Gore-Tex Transalpine-Run 2011 participants take on their last obstacle on their long way across the Alps. The final turn of the 30.20 kilometer-long route, which still covers 1,807 m of elevation difference, takes participants into the foothills of the Ortler group and thus into the seventh mountain range of the Eastern Alps. After the peak at the Göflaner Scharte (2,396 m) the finish line in Latsch will soon come into view, where those 273 kilometers and 15,436 m of altitude difference finally come to a long wished-for end.
