I remember watching this race live. You could hear everyone yelling at Thorpe to GO!!!! in all the houses down the street. I yelled myself silly and my family all danced around foolishly. Greatest race ever. Still get emotional watching it now.

Eamon Sullivan: Former WR holder and last Olympic Silver in 100 Free.
Matt Target: Last Olympics finalist in 100 Free.
James Magnussen: Most recent world champion 100 Free.
Ian Thorpe: Actual Human/Fish hybrid.
But I'm sure America will be fine... yeah...
