Everything does not have the results that you expect when trying out something new especially in your hair. So I took the plunge and tried a leave-in (Giovanni Organic Hair Care Direct Leave-In Weightless Moisture Conditioner), an oil (extra virgin olive oil and vegetable glycerin / glycerine), and a gel (La Bella Freeze and Hold Styling Gel on one side and Fantasia IC Hair Polisher Olive Styling Gel with Sparkle Lites on the other) combination in my hair. At this time, I don't think it worked for me using either one of the gels mentioned previously, but I'll probably try it again using something else (like Ecostyler Olive Oil Styling Gel as used in Indigochild613's video). I did have fun playing in my hair and seeing what worked or in this case, didn't work (LOL).

  • The key is not to comb it, just let it dry clumped together and later as it dries just pull it apart with your fingers. You will find that it's harder for our hair to clump because the curls are too tiny. Blessings

  • @indigochild613 Thanks for the helpful tips. I don't think I mastered the technique on the first try, but I will do it again and study your video beforehand ;-).

  • 

  • @67blackgirl I'm not quite sure what that means because your comment looks like a weird symbol...

  • i have found using an oil before using the gel, doesn't help me define my curl. i get better results if i use gel first and then add the oil. that technique failed me as well...

  • @shelski101 I have to try that way out too. I just don't want my hair to be crunchy and I have to use up all of this gel or it is going to my sister that styles her hair all different kinds of ways. Thanks for the suggestion.

  • @drdawn86 Exactly ;-)!

  • @drdawn86 I think I could have applied more gel to my roots, but I was so disappointed of the results on my ends, I figured "Why bother?!" The next time I try doing this technique, I will concentrate it on the root-to-tip more.

  • @umkish Thanks for your suggestions, I have to give them a try. This is the first time, I'm hearing about using activator under the gel. I'll take note of it and give it a try.

  • @icetia2002 Thanks for the tip and I just recently got a jar of the Ecostyler Olive Styling Gel on sale at Sally's. So I'm looking forward to trying it.

  • @CheynneD Yes, I have tried Kimmaytube's leave-in recipe and you'll have to stay tuned for my results and thoughts about it ;-).
