i'll never forget when I heard Malkmus's voice behind me in covent garden talking about the new tortoise seven inch. I knew it was him. I turned around. Too bad I looked like a total douche complete with skateboard, baggy 70's butterfly collared shirt and septum ring. sigh.

stephen malkmus' voice is a bit deeper than jeff tweedy's and isn't really gravelly. that's just the audio quality of this video playing tricks on yer brains.
