  • I hope this goes into law. It will save us money. It will help the frail elderly and their caregivers. Thank you for the service you do in posting this video.

  • In many clearly identifiable cases of elderly patients, it's simply that a home visit is cheaper than a hospital visit, and results in better care as well. The problem has been that many insurers will cover the hospital visit but not a house call! It's great to see this legislation, and to see that it's getting some bipartisan traction in both the house and senate. I sure hope this piece makes it into the final health care package being carved out this year.

  • Dr. Boling has been proving to insurance companies for 25 years that it's sometimes cheaper to buy an air conditioner for an incapacitated elderly person than to pay for the emergency room visit that happens because they don't have one. He and his team have a great understanding of how to reduce costs and improve care, but it's been a long uphill educational struggle to get insurers to recognize what's essentially in their own self-interest.
