"Down Kentucky Way" Fox Trot Song.
G.H Elliott ('The Original Chocolate Coloured Coon').
Recorded - 1928 /29.
As bright and cheerful as ever he was, the great Black Faced Music Hall and Variety favourite G.H Elliott takes us back to the Minstrel tradition and songs of Leslie Stuart.
In my experience these Edison Bell Radio Records from 1928 to 1931 are top notch, especially when they carry the description 'Fox Trot Song'. I wonder if Harry Hudson had a hand in the orchestral accompaniment on some of these discs?.
LOVE THE SONG ( RACIST BASTARD... LOFL ! )

Edisom-Bell Radio discs were the best. Too bad they aren't that common here in the States.

A tune I've known for many years and a sheer joy to hear. I'm surprised it was not more popular. Only one dance band recorded it (Al Tabor). Prefer this version.

I must admit I really like this type of straightforward vocal - and of course the Harry Hudson band is excellent. Nice 'Radio' sleeve!
