Hello, I've been collecting rare films and television programmes for nearly twenty years now and I thought it was high time I shared some clips from a few of the titles in my archive with you nice people out there. If you've a similar passion or just want to say hello, thanks etc. get in touch with me here or at statesedgefilms@virginmedia.com
I look forward to hearing from (at least) a few of you and hope that you enjoy my humble offerings.
RING OF SPIES (1964)
Henry Houghton (Bernard Lee) is sacked from the British Embassy at Warsaw as a bad security risk. He is transferred to records at the Portland Underwater Weapons Establishment. With a chip on his shoulder and a desire for easy money he is readily blackmailed into borrowing secret documents from Portland. He inveigles a respectable spinster who is in charge of the safe keys, to help him. Gordon Lonsdale, the Russian contact, passes the info on to a middle aged couple in the suburbs who are ostensibly bookdealers. They ingeniously transmit it by short wave to Russia (Variety).
Thanks for uploading this film. I wish the TV companies would put some of these old British films back on the telly. I'm sick of watching the seemingly endless drivel (with few exceptions) from the U.S.

How good it was to see this long forgotten gem once more. Not given a wide release in 1965, it was last seen in those far oiff pre video recorder days....
