GVF recently sat down with Jack Smyth Jr., P.E., Consulting Engineer to the Upper Merion Township Transportation Authority, to discuss the authority's role in funding transportation improvements within the township. The Transportation Authority is a unique entity which collects money from development projects and uses it to fund upgrades to the township's transportation network. In this video, Jack details the authority's role in advancing transportation improvements along Henderson Road, through a loan from the PA Infrastructure Bank, and how the Transportation Authority has partnered with PennDOT to complete some of the advanced work for the Church Road Bridge replacement. Jack also offers some advice to municipalities on approaching PennDOT regarding critical transportation upgrades.
