its from his cam. the cam i got in my truck makes the motor sound like its goin to die.

Thanks a bunch! GMC4x4z It's a lot of work but with a little time and elbow grease, it's not so bad. The end result is worth the effort!

You are correct that the cam has something to do with it. There are others elements as well like the air/fuel ratio, timing, and engine temperature on mine. It seems to smooth out after it warms up. An engine builder could probably give a more accurate explanation.

@qwyktruk I like that dash, I have a 66 C20. Did you replace the entire dash, or just do some fancy sheet metal work on the original? Looking to do something like that with mine.

Thanks Chris9450 . Original dash with some plates welded in and some bondo to smooth it out. Covered with material and a logo stuck in underneath. Pretty simple, just time consuming. I also made a drop down door under the pass side where the fuse block is mounted next to the MSD box. Out of site and out of the way of footroom.
