@patrioticfromdayone as much as I'd love to agree with your sentiments about her dress it was most likely closer to the truth to suggest her modest appearance stemmed from her insecurity of being overweight (in her own mind) and thus being ashamed to show any part of her body....talk about a scream for help that no one around was able to hear ..... I prefer to imagine the angels taking singing lessons from her.

My 7th/8th grade music teacher/choir teacher had us listen to all of these songs and I absolutely fell in love with them. I'm 22 now and this song is about 10+ years older than I am lol.

@patrioticfromdayone It's a shame that she died of anorexia. Her and her brother were an amazing duo, even though this song is probably older than I am.

"Like this" if the younger generation should listen to this voice. I mix things :)

A voice sent from God.
Karen Carpenter is the epitome of class and talent; she is dressed modestly; she doesn't feel the need to be provocative and inappropriate as some current pop and r&b stars do. THIS is music that she brings -- along with wholesome, feminine beauty.

How could someone dislike this song? My God! These 200 "no-likers" must not have souls. This is a masterpiece and as American as apple pie--and I don't care if you're old, young, black, white, gay, straight, polk-a-dot...this song is just a thing of beauty. Respect.
