Great Song. Both The Carpenters and Phil Alvin of "The Blasters" lived very close to each other in Downey, California. Could you imagine Karen and Phil singing "I'm Shakin" together.

@plinkymist Actually Richard wrote only 2 or 3 of their hits. His talent was mainly as an arranger, performer, and background singer. One of the best things the Carpenters did was choose quality songs to perform and record. For some reason, people have gotten where they think musicians are only good if they write their own stuff. Not true at all.

How could someone dislike this song? My God! These 200 "no-likers" must not have souls. This is a masterpiece and as American as apple pie--and I don't care if you're old, young, black, white, gay, straight, polk-a-dot...this song is just a thing of beauty. Respect.
