I saw the movie about Hank called "Crazy," and am so happy I could catch this again on You-Tube. You-Tube is a world treasure. We all need to be so grateful for the musical riches it brings us. And as for Hank Garland! What a wonderful musician. They say our greatest musicians are angels come to earth to help us through this difficult life.

I just don't see how folks can argue with each other when music this fine is playing. This is great stuff.

Does anyone have the tab for this?

Hillbilly music from a retro-future world.

Really a jazz player..

Like my grandpap says - "Finally a video from television that isn't dubbed"
-
@MarkEaster I'm glad to hear you say that, because I saw that movie, and I've read a bit about Garland over the years, and the two don't match up, especially the circumstances of his wreck.

Supergood

@mbrk6827 Definitely before. He never fully recovered from the wreck and was unable to work as a session musician. He lived for another 43 years but never recorded again.
-
john 5 reinvented this song \m/

Great rendition by a great guitarist-unrivaled in my opinion except a few who come close-we lost an excellent amazing guitarist in hank garland/thanks for posting this!-loved the movie 'crazy' too....
-
Hank had an unfortunate problem many of us regular guitarists don't. It's called virtuosity (did I spell that right?). Most of us could practice and play our entire lives and never have his abilities or gifts.
-
One of the best ever guitarists! Definitely a country/rock/rockabilly pioneer!
-
@TheBlueDjango i do understand that all i was doing was cheering on my garlands skills after some numpty said it was not as good as john5 ....i know how good john5 is i just prefer hanks style of playing....i appreciate a good musician as well as the next guy....peace!
-
@yarmouk334 this was his warm up song for many years before it was recorded. He was overly familiar with the song. That said he was extremely talented and worked & recorded with some big names.
-
@mbrk6827 there's a great movie bout him called "Crazy"...should check it out. It's fairly new!
-
He doesn't even have to look at the guitar while playing something that technical. I wanna be that good one day.
-
Reminds me of Les Paul's sound....
-
Poor Hank...I watched the movie about his life the other day, and I was glad to see that he gave blacks a chance to play their music with him, despite the huge criticism he got for doing that...Doing that cost him his career as well, because after his car was hit off the road by another car, Hank couldn't play like he used to before.
-
@tightsparten337 No i don't know why you would specifically refer to your first amendment right, it's not like i forbade you to speak. I was merely stating that hating on other types of music just invites this stupid "the music i like is the best and everything else is shit" mentality. Also "we" have a lot of talent. Maybe you just didn't discover all of the awesome bands that you could like yet.
If you make such a snappy comment expect a retort.
-
@Duiss well you know what? excuse me for excercising my first amendment, so fuck off man, i like hank garland, i like metal, plus when i typed up that comment, i was kinda pissed off at my friend that kept playing music off of my laptop, while i was trying to concentrate on some work.

@dontkr i meant faron young , sorry
-
thanks for the post. by the way , thats ferlin husky doing the intro.
Hank was awesome, too bad he passed so young.
be careful while watching "Crazy" they took some liberties on Hank's life. Search around and read several articles on the internet to seek out the truth.

@MarkEaster Yeah ... there's a bit of a Hollywood spin to it for sure.
