Short of Able

Influenced by the Manchester scene of the 80s and 90s--including The Stone Roses, Oasis, and The Verve--Short of Able focuses on acoustic-driven rock featuring strong vocal melodies. Their song writing deconstructs ideas into their simplest components. From this cornerstone, they layer on rhythms, drums, and guitars, ultimately creating an expressive and rhythmic sound.

They have enjoyed considerable success in Edmonton: winning the Supernova battle of the bands, playing in the band of the month showcase for local radio station Sonic 102.9, and gigging with well-known bands like The Wheat Pool, Maurice, and Burning Borders. Short of Able has recently finished recording their upcoming, unnamed EP at Norwood Studios with producers Chris Wynters of Captain Tractor and James Murdoch of the James Murdoch Band. The band intends to promote this release with a Canadian tour, featuring several western Canadian cities.
