They don't pay teachers what they deserve. Personally, I would rather be a lawyer and make the big bucks. Hell, even bartenders, cocktail waitresses and strippers make a great deal more money than a teacher will ever make. And the worst part is is that they didn't have to waste their time or money going to college. That's pretty sad when you think of it.

Well done. Contrary to OhioYankee, I don't believe you would have gone as far as to memorize this poem and add your own nuances to it if it hadn't truely inspired you. I love Taylor Mali...he gives insipration to a largely discouraged profession, and I am pleased to see someone enjoyed his words as much as I did the first time I heard them. (Though I've never been a teacher, I am a school Psychologist, and I applaude anyone brave enough to venture into the teaching porfession)
