I've been listening to Anita's recordings a lot lately, she was a really great vocalist and an interesting person. In the book "American Musicians II: Seventy-One Portraits in Jazz" by Whitney Balliett pianist Ellis Larkins is profiled, half of which is about him rehearsing with Anita for an LP they cut in the 1970's. In this Anita mentions their appearance together in the movie "The Joe Louis Story," piquing my interest, and sure enough someone had uploaded the whole thing to YT. I edited their song out of that. "I'll be Around" was composed by Alec Wilder, who was a favorite of Anita's; she only made a handful of recordings with a lot of overlap, and there are a good few Wilders in there.

Anita had terrible stage fright; I imagine in this clip they perhaps cleared out the audience to put her at ease.
