Here are several Amtrak Acela Express & Northeast Regional trains at or near track speed in Mansfield, MA. As promised, here is some high speed action from the NEC.

I shot these videos with a 1/500th shutter speed, so every train, even the 150MPH Acelas, should be clear and not blurry. Try pausing the video while a train is passing and see how sharp it is.

  • Really cool video! Im british and know nothing about American trains or anything. Where do they go to/from on this line?

  • This line goes from Boston, MA to New York, NY and Washington, DC among other places

  • Awsome compilation, I love going to Mansfield. Was this all one day? I noticed the hail!

  • Thanks, and yup, all on a weekday while on a trip!

  • How fast are these trains going when they fly by the station?

Looks like around 80-100mph to me.

  • Maximum authorized speed is 124mph for regionals and 150mph for Acelas
