An American living in Bangkok, Thailand, talks about how he used Twitter to stay informed - and safe - during recent Thai political protests.
All photos shown during interview were taken by Tim. Interview was conducted via Skype and occasional background noise is from construction taking place in a nearby apartment.

It wasn't everywhere. I live in Bangkok but there was nothing going on around my property. It only occured in the middle of the town. I feel really bad for people for die from this.

Thanks for this report. Likewise, I found about a dozen media folks, both Thai and farang who were tweeting in English from the middle of the conflict. Much more informative and timely than CNN or any of the other western news sources. One other good mainstream media source was Al Jazeera English. One the social networking side, folks were being quick to post photos and videos on flickr and YouTube.
