The West Berkshire Minority Ethnic Forum is committed to working with all communities to assist in developing cohesion. If people are aware of, and can celebrate and express their diverse own and others cultural antecedents with pride then they are able to contribute even more to the wider society.
As for people from minority ethnic backgrounds having to identify themselves exclusively with just one ethnic or national identity then this is not realistic, and may well cause untold damage.

Really nice to see young kids happy, but do they grow up to think of themselves as Chinese or European ? I cant work out where we are heading with a multicultural Britain. Do we encourage ethnic minorities to keep there identity ? If so do we encourage say Anglo-Saxon kids to think the same way ?
Tolerance & understanding of different cultures is a civilised ethos to have, but how do we do that under one legal system in a small island when we have such a diverse population ?
