70% of the time there's a river under that bridge CONSTANTLY FOR YEARS as "New" Melones dam was OVERbuilt for the watershed of the Stanislaus River.

Big deal.
I jumped that bridge in July of 1983 after the "lake" filled for the first time ever.
Are YOU aware that since THAT summer of 1983 New Melones has been 50% "full"/"empty" about 70% of the time because the watershed was "OVERSOLD" by the Bureau of Reclamation JUST TO BUILD THE DAM.
*New* Melones DAM shouldn't exist. It has no reason to exists WHATSOEVER.

Nice jump. A few weeks ago when the lake was 24ft below full a friend and I jumped the Highway 49 bridge. It was pretty awesome.

@RichardBehiel HOLY CRAP! I thought you were just kidding or lying trying to be cool but I checked out your vids and they are bad ass, you guys are really talented! It was awesome to see Blue streak (AKA Olympic pools) in your vids, I grew up there, and havent been there in over 10 years though, and this was my first time on Melones in 10 years.
