I go over the history, as well as review, one of the best NES classics! Not just SMB2, the ORIGINAL SMB2!

REVIEW:

Does this game look familiar? Well it should. Allow me to explain. After the popularity of Super Mario Bros for the NES, a sequel was of course in the works. Of course games developed by Nintendo were realesed in Japan first, and that was Super Mario Bros. 2. But not the one we got. It was pretty much identical to the first one, however the game was about 10 times harder and Luigi had different control. This game later appeared in Super Mario Bros. DX for the Gameboy Color and Super Mario All-Stars for the Super Nintendo. Anyway, Nintendo thought that the fact that the game was so similar to the first one, and that it was so hard, would give it poor critical reception in America. So what did they do? They took a random game from the Famciom Disk System library, and slapped Mario on it. It was called Doki Doki Panic. I'm playing the original, because in my opinion, it's superior, for two reasons: First of all, it's the original. Even if someone makes a remake of a game that I would think is better, I always still find myself liking the original more. Second of all, you can SAVE. SMB2 was a great game, but the fact that you couldn't save really brought it down. But in this, you can. It's the same great game, but you can save. That's awesome.

  • This makes me think...The Mario Series STOLE Birdo! Well...the games are both Nintendo but still.

  • LOL yeah that's true. Also, of course they stole Shy Guys, which are in almost every game!
