People go after Ayers with a complete disregard for historical context. What the anti-Ayers people fail to discuss is that, at the time of his involvement with the Weather Underground, the United States was daily visiting on the Vietnamese people unimaginable horrors in the form of bombings and chemical warfare, the effects of which the Vietnamese people live with today. Given this, Ayers so-called "terroristic" activities pale in comparison. The United States was the agressor.

im not sure if you are defending or attacking the left-winged media. i didn't vote for him but i was neither of those three reasons you put. i think if it was a republican that had relations with ayers. they would be put in ridiculous Scrutiny. i well agree bush did not do much to prevent the mortgage crisis, but please note neither did the Legislative Branch. even when the democrats were in power, they did nothing. on last thing, it was Clinton that started it all.

I'm doing both.

Its funny how because Obama was Black and had a muslim name they did their best to link him with every black muslim who ever said a bad thing...

...but its never mentioned how close McCain/Bush and the rest of those running against him were to Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Ladin.

Republicans did have relationships with Ayers. It's been widely reported that the Annenberg board included several Republican business and education leaders. Walter Annenberg himself was a Republican. They were not put in "ridiculous scrutiny" because Ayers is now an education professor and reformer and a respected member of the Chicago community.

none of those were running for president, the education thing of now has nothing to do the fact he was a domestic terrorist in the past. if this was mccains guy it be a different story and you know it

If it was McCain's guy the Ayers connection probably wouldn't have come up at all, because the Democrats campaigned on economic and foreign policy and tried to tie McCain to Bush, while the Republicans dredged up every conservative boogeyman they could find to frighten the gullible nativists that compose the base of their party.

you are blind to the fact that majority of the media is liberal. you notice that there was more negative stories to any one on the republican side then the democratic. i agree we need someone to talk about the issues more. i still cant believe how obama complained about the media talking about his wife making a comment statement . most of the media backed off. yet, when palin came in they complained about here family and so on. also how about the guy we liked to call joe the plumber.

You're making my point about conservative boogeymen for me with the "liberal media" comments. I believe Obama's complaints about the coverage of his wife's comment had to do with the insipid, content-free way the media covered the election and how that led to weeks of attention to complete non-issues like Bill Ayers. That of course also led to some unfair treatment of Palin's family.

no your talking about that and fox news. liberals run majority of the media and if you don't see that you are blind to the fact it is. lot of the media were for obama its clear. if the media was so for talking bout the issues then why did we hear so many smear attempts against Sarah Palin. then they did this to Joe the plumber the guy that asked a question. find how obama got elected"that shows some of the medias Influence on the voters
