From Bivouac

Guitar, vocals: Blake Schwarzenbach
Bass: Chris Bauermeister
Drums: Adam Pfahler

Released: 1992
Label: Tupelo/Communion Records

Seven hundred miles to play to fifteen angry men.
I need some sleep.
They hate the songs.
We hate them too.
This show is free.
Twenty minutes in broke another fucking string.
Just call it luck.
They start to leave.
I start to plead.
Someone yells you suck.
Suddenly that joe kicks hard in my veins.
I cool down.
Things sound good right now.
Suddenly fists turn into brave ears, move as one.
Funny how no one knows we came.
They wouldn't come anyway.
Should I feel grateful to play.
I'm living life my way.
I fell in love with my enemy.
I let go of everything I had left at home.
Two cool people came.
They're hiding by the door.
Eyes wide with fright.
A guy, a girl, in love with the whole world.
It almost makes it right.
Every little thing must go wrong.

  • @LisaandLukas Not really, 90's. First album was out in 90.

I remember buying this in 1992 at a store in the mall. I was 14........ I destroyed that tape from playing it so much......yep, i said tape ;)

  • i need to learn this!!!!!!!!!

  • fuck these guys kick ass!!! where the fuck have i been!!

  • oh and forgot...this band is from the 80s.^^

  • @JisatsuSeiyuuk SAME :)

  • i like the rise against version better. sounds melodic. the tone and lyrics go together.

will not comment on this version. the saying "dont say anything if you dont have anything good to say" is my reason and i dont want to start a conflict.

  • @shinynewjb Tempted to tell him aswell: If a cover pops up more then the original, does that make a song better or worse? Nope. It still sounds the same. Fucking commercial bullshit. That said, I love this song. And as you can tell by my username Rise Against is my fav band, but this version is definitly way better. Thanks Jim for reminding me of Jawbreaker at the black pacific gig.

  • i wish the vocals were a bit louder.

  • I like this both versions of the song to but I think that the version of rise against is a little better than this

  • @mrspeta Same here. Kick-ass stuff.
