The idea is simple: If the sun extra-heat(caused by human emissions) will melt the ice in the polars, than we need to protect to polars, aren't we? We can protect them, by simply cover them with a shield. And what better, and cheaper shield than a reflective, white nylon. This will reflect the sunlight and the infrared light from the ice surface, which, will prevent from melting lakes to grow and let new snow layers to pack.

You're right, but, you know how much nylon dose the industries in the US are using? Beside that, it can stop the ice melting, which is a very important issue.
