Walkers Snacks Ltd today admitted that their three iconic monster puppets, stars of the Monster Munch adverts in the 1970s and 80s, have gone missing. The company has launched a nationwide search to find them and has put up a £5,000 reward for their safe return.
The retro Monster Munch snacks returned to supermarket shelves this month amid a high profile marketing campaign. But as Walkers Snacks Ltd started working on an advertising campaign to support this re- launch they realised that their three prize assets were in fact missing. Each of the monsters represents a much loved flavour; Roast Beef, Pickled Onion and Flamin Hot.
Walkers Snacks Ltd acquired the Monster Munch brand from Smiths Crisps in 1989, and believe that the monsters have been mislaid during this transitional period. They have remained untraceable ever since.
Dominic South, Monster Munch Senior Brand Manager, said:
Were desperate to track down our three furry brand icons and would appeal to the public to come forward with any information, however insignificant it may seem. We need these characters urgently for an ad campaign!
Possible sightings and claims to the reward can be reported via www.findourmonsters.com

Yeah they could remake replicas of the originals. But i dont think they will even get 1 monster. If theres a monster munch fan out there who has 1 or some i dont think they would want to give away 1 of the original monster munch puppets for only £5000! They should make it about £20000 it would be worth their money as it will help the sales rise. What would they do if they dont suceed though?

Could they not just make new puppets to replace them if they have lost the originals? Why do they need to use the originals to advertise them? Surely they could create replicas.
