Most so called symphonies of Salieri are in fact arrangements of his opera overtures. This one is maybe the only 'real' symphony actually written as that. It dates from 1775. The definite highlight is the last movement, a brilliant rondo with a mysterious coda.
The London Mozart Players perform, conducted by Matthias Bamert.

  • The great things about Antonio Salieri its that he live in period with the most astonishing greatest composer like Mozart, J.Chr.Bach, C.P.E.Bach, Haydn, Beethoven and no one can deny that and anyone shall hear thru he's musik very specific Mozart and J.Chr.Bach tones! its just amazing to live around such great composer like them

  • This symphony is truly beautiful and actually displays Salieri`s excellent talent as a composer. It is interesting to note how Mozartian it is, especially in the beginning, where the woodwinds contribute wonderfully to the work through playful interaction with the strings.

  • Una bellissima composizione. I pas. dei fiati, fantastici. il largheto, dolcissimo.
