Reading the yearly NBA guide books we always loved the fascinating Western Conference game, with its high scoring. Chambers was one of those guy who wasn't viewed as a true superstar but was averaging 25-27 ppg in multiple years. That's serious scoring, even in a fast paced offense.

@cbaldwinjr Hey, some white dunkers had their day. But I'm speaking to the general promotion activities of the media. White dunkers were often ignored.

@citrustaco Exactly...it wasn't even until the '96 Finals that people everywhere and not just hoops junkies realized that Shawn Kemp was a GREAT, not good, but great basketball player. This idea that white guilt prevented Tom Chambers from getting his just due is retarded on that other poster's part. Hell, there was an article that wondered aloud if his career would've been different if he and James Worthy had switched places.

@FavreianVengeance You're an idiot. It's because by 1993, Chambers couldn't even get up like that anymore. In the 80's, leapers were dime a dozen. Wilkins, Sky Walker, MJ, Alvin Robertson, etc were doing what he did without being 6'10". Rex Chapman got love, Brent Barry won a dunk contest. You're just imprinting your own idiocy into that stupid opinion. White guilt...GTFOH!

@citrustaco Not to mention the black bias. In the 80's and 90s the white guilt media did not want to admit that a white guy could dunk like a black guy or even better than a black guy.

@FavreianVengeance I think he didn't get his due because of east coast bias. The only team in the west to get any credit were the Lakers. Playing for Seattle or Phoenix, I hardly ever saw any of their games growing up. People in the east were sleep, and the next day they would focus on the highlights of that night and not the previous night that I missed.
