I'm very happy that the members of Korczak Ziolkowski's family have pledged to continue his work, considering the fact that the creation of nearby Mount Rushmore was essentially a gigantic "up yours" to the Lakota nation...formed out of lands sacred to them which the US government had promised in 1868 would belong to the Lakota forever, then had forced them to give up less than ten years later when gold was found there. Personally, I refuse to visit Mount Rushmore on principle.

This monument looks nothing like Crazy Horse, it looks like a full blooded Lakota. It is a well established fact that Crazy Horse was half white. There were lots of people that knew him and all described him the same, light skin , eyes and hair, long thin nose, no high cheek bones, wavy hair, 5'6" , 145 pounds or so.

During his time it is good to remember his people did not necessarily like him all that much and were in part responsible for his death. And dont forget he was a US Army Scout too.

If it looks as good as the model when its done,it will be beautiful.As far as CRAZY HORSE being against it.Are you kidding? To have a likeness that big (can probably be seen from space)of yourself would give you one big ego and he was human.
