Classic Game Room HD reviews GRAN CHASER for Sega Saturn from 1995. This game is known as Cyber Speedway in the West and features space ship race car designs from legendary designer Syd Mead who designed the Tron light cycles and Spinners from Blade Runner (among many, many other things). Graphically Gran Chaser has that sad-1995-polygon look which feels dated but the gameplay is really solid and very fun. This is a future death race style game where you can smash and ram other ships as well as launch missiles at them. Fans of games like Hydro Thunder and Fatal Inertia should get a kick out of Gran Chaser / Cyber Speedway. This is the Japanese release featuring Japanese dialog. This CGR review of Gran Chaser / Cyber Speedway has gameplay from Gran Chaser / Cyber Speedway showing futuristic racing action game play on Sega Saturn.

  • I will loan my FZ-10 top-loading Panasonic 3DO to CGR if only it makes you do reviews for it.

  • @JZilla001

I never knew that. I thought it was the same as "lol."

Fuck improper internet grammar anyway it makes people look less intelligent.

  • Loved this game, painful to watch him hit a wall every 2 seconds. It's so awesome cruising full speed to the great soundtrack.

  • i love sega saturns cheesy 3d power! thats whats life is all about!

  • @gundamzerostrike

n64 is more powerfull then sega saturn...

  • this game looks extremely crisp for a saturn game

  • Reminds me of a weaker version of Wipeout.

  • don't forget to check out wipeout as well, the PSP ones are sweet.

  • @classof77 lol, I always wondered why it's so hard for someone to learn at least a dozen english words and pronounce them properly... he actually says "let's go away" instead of "we're gonna win", but then again it sounds like he's screaming Day-Bone-A anyway... it's not like the words make sense... "I wanna fry-y-y sky high... it's go-o-o-one to get bah"? Like really, what the hell is he singing in Blue Skies anyway?

  • I expect most games released these days aren't going to age well either... Mainstream games like CoD and stuff.

Seriously, can you imagine yourself two decades ahead, picking up any mainstream game released these days to play? Well I don't.

  • F-Zero X on the N64 is MUCH better than all modern futuristic racing. So you don't need powerfull system, you just need a N64.

  • Draw distance on these Saturn 3D racers kind of sucks. See also Daytona.

Or rather, see also "DAYYY-TOOO-NAAA!!" (we're gonna win)
