  • I'm curious as well about how you did this. I have a 95 XE-V6 with a blown motor and have researched every possible way to make some real power,(turbo, supercharging, small-block Chevy swap). This by far is the finest example out there. My question to you is: When you relocated the motor, did you have any issues with the location of the drive shaft and drive shaft length?

  • @red95xe Yes, the driveshaft is 2 pcs, i had to have the front pc shortened at a driveshaft shop, and rebalanced. In Chattanooga TN. I used and recommend Chattanooga Driveline Service, Remember that i also used a T-5 Borg-Warner trans from the 300zx turbo, so yours may need to be lengthened instead.

  • @xlr8x2 In the case of the Nissan Hardbody XE-V6 2WD, it uses the same Borg Warner transmission. Even the same gear ratios as well. Both share a good bit of the same drive line. Thus, an alteration (motor mounts and drive shaft) is still in order here. I'm thinking that it may just be easier to engineer a remote mount turbo system without having to alter the original drive line architecture and seeking out a donor Z31/turbo. Not to mention, I'd like to keep the A/C - power steering.

  • @red95xe Are you sure that your trans is a Borg? I've never seen a Borg in any truck. Every clutch job I have ever done from the 720 series to the Frontier has been a AISIN (brand name-actually built by Toyota!) one piece transmission, 2 or 4wd, 4cyl or 6cyl. You can tell the difference very easily, the BorgWarner has a removable bellhousing(4 bolts on the outside) and the AISIN is a one piece design, bellhousing is cast together.Turbo 280zx and 300zx were it. Car trans have higher 1st

  • @xlr8x2 Mine had air too! Just no power steering-didn't have it factory. I would love a pic of your trans. I gutted 4 Aisin trannys before i finally found a Borg, and that only slowed the process. But if you already have it then you are right either a upper pass side custom mount or rear mount would be your easiest bet-heck i've even seen the vg30dett(1990 -97 300zx twin turbo!) in one here on youtube-so anythings possible!

  • How much was the motor and setup thinking about doing my 95 hard body

  • @cornbreadandjiffymix I just bought a complete wrecked car for $400, that way i had dash cluster, all accessories, wiring, engine, trans, and any thing else I may need.

  • WOW

  • Thumbs up if everyone here want's him to make a how to video from start to finish lol

  • Hey where did u get ur dashboard?

  • @red95xe If you go on ZBUM.com, they have the same information with pictures of each style of transmission. That should clear things up.

  • @xlr8x2 You are correct and I was off by one number. My transmission is not the Borg-Warner. It is (Nissan Code) FS5R30A, which I confused with the FS5R90A. The latter being the Borg Warner unit. My source for this Z31.com, information: transmission. Hope that may clear things up. On a different note: My goal is to build the Motor/Turbo in the most efficient/economical way possible. I already have a the spare VG30E just about ready for the swap. Thanks for the encouragement.

  • @red95xe Do you have any idea what horsepower your setup is making? Thanks.
