RIP....James Dewer...what a voice!

@Ravenite1 RT pays homage to his creator (JMH) with every phrase, note, tone, technique, and stomp of the wah wah pedal. Trower is a rare white artist who can play black music in an authentic way without exploiting it or imitating it. He honed in on the core cultural, technological, and aesthetic dimensions of the JMH 69-70 incarnation and became a leading disciple of the Hendrix musical prophecy. This guy really brings the feeling and the soul required to deliver the hard funk.

Back in the 70's I used to listen to this on 8-track. Brings back memories. The sound is no doubt Hendrix in influence. Good on Trower for carrying on the tradition. If Hendrix had lived you know he would have grooved on Trower. I can just hear him saying "yeah there's this new cat Robin Trower. I really like his sound. I'll try to get together and play with him sometime." You can imagine the outcome of that!

Trower was definitely in the Hendrix school of things. All though I heard him say in an interview that he never tabbed or worked anything by ear, that's probably why his playing sounds so original

I downloaded the torrents file, but Realplayer, Windows or I tunes cannot read this file. What am I doing wrong?

Make sure they are not FLAC files, cause those require a second program to turn them into MP3's. If they are FLAC files or some other strange format, then you will need to download a program over the internet that converts music formats. I just got the latest version of winamp to do it and that seems to be the only way to keep the quality intact. Tell me if you need more help.
