August 9th, 1983--ME!!!!! Shot-out to all of the '83 babies from NYC! (Especially BK!)
But I kinda wish I were a 20-year old in the city back in 1983. Man, I really would've been living like crazy. First off, I still would've been tripping off of the 70's being gone. :-( But if I were around in B'klyn circa. '83, I would have been taking the J every-damn-where, watching TONS of t.v., eating ALL of the White Castle I could find, and jerkin' it to MAD Vanessa del Rio flicks! ;D
And now...

...in 2011 (20 in '83...DAMN, I'd be REAL close to 50 by now in 2011! Lol!!!), I'd be tripping even harder off of the fact you could watch almost every damn Vanessa del Rio scene on a computer, in your own privacy, for fuckin' free. :-) Lol! Damn, man, what if my crazy life turned out that way. Something to think about. Lol...

@wmbrown6 Yes, the Sports Update would air @ 11:45. Good catch, and glad this one has been determined!

It was late Nov. 19/early Nov. 20, 1983; the film started at midnight, right after the Saturday night 15-minute "Sports Update." Don't forget, also, by this point early morning weekdays were now taken up by "CBS News Nightwatch" (now "Up to the Minute"), with "Late Shows" and "Late Late Shows" only airing weekends.

Man, how I wish Beefsteak Charlie's was still around! All the shrimp and sangria you can consume 'til you barf!!

Funny how much less primitive this looks than the 1978 broadcast of WCBS's "Late Show" I have. I think they had stopped using 16mm film for commercials by this time, also very few local spots here.

This is a difficult one to date, BC. There are really no clues, except that you said it is between 11/17 and 11/20. It IS before Thanksgiving, with all those related ads.
The only thing that could give us a clue, perhaps, is the final ad, for the Music Magazine. It says its on AFTER The Late Show, meaning that if it's a weekly program, WCBS would probably have stuck on a weekend, which could be Friday 11/18, Saturday 11/19, or Sunday 11/20. All we have to go on is your date range.
