The Celebration Gospel Choir feat. Simona Stöckler performing the song from Handel's Messiah, A Soulful Celebration. This is a cover song from the award-winning CD by Mervyn Warren (from Take Six) et al, a Black Music Version of the oratory of Georg Friedrich Handel from 1741. The Original CD featured many well known R&B artists like Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan or Patti Austin, and won a Grammy in 1993. As far as I know, the Celebration Gospel Choir (http://www.celebration-choir.de) are the first to perform the whole work live. Since it's not available in print, writing out the music from the CD must have been a hell of work!
This is my favorite song from the concert. It was recorded on Dec 13, 2008 at the Capitol in Mannheim, Germany. M.D. is Anne Westrich.

This really isn't bad. Of course, she's not Patti, but she definitely did not embarrass herself. She actually has quite a nice voice in her own right. This whole effort by this director and choir was not bad. Would not have minded at all being there. Great job, guys!
