On Sunday June 1st 2008 former Santa Fe steam locomotive 3751 Powered a round trip excursion train from Los Angeles to San Diego and back. This slideshow is my story from the trip. This was the first time a steam locomotive operated in San Diego since August 25 1953 when 3751 powered the last regular steam powered passenger train on the surfline to San Diego. And now 55 years later steam has been brought back to the surfline thanks to this trip pulled by the the oldest surviving 4-8-4 steam locomotive in the United States.Enjoy! feel free to leave comments
