  • Lol at brown bringing tanks and vultures to counter mutalisks. No one said anything about that? Btw I think harassing could be worse if the goliaths knew what they were doing, they will actually hit the mutalisks more than the mutalisks hit the goliaths except for when they are out of range.

  • It seems the Overmind is confused by the Terran AI. From what I read, it doesnt take into account that SCVs repair units, and so assumes they are a massive economic target, when they are actually just repairing things. Then they target the offensive units so that their chance of destroying SCVs becomes greater, when in reality they should target SCVs so that they can destroy the offensive targets. Implement something that reacts to healing units and you have an effective Terran strategy counter.

  • stacking is used because humans can't control 11 individual mutalisks as well as they can 11 acting as one. An AI does not have this limitation. Stacking is almost useless.

Landing a bunch of hits at once to kill a unit before it can be healed is nice. But 11 or more mutas hitting in rapid succession do not leave that much time to heal. Healing isn't instant. It's more than worth it to avoid area of effect attacks, as well as limiting the number of units that are in enemy range at any time

  • krasi0 is so goddamn easy to defeat, I went 8:1 on it

  • @imorriso1 Still another problem with not stacking is that you may have difficulties organizing when they attack. I would say its a lot harder to do it by other means than stacking. Another issue that this whole approach has, despite that the dps increases (as each muta always attacks constantly) is that the enemy also always can attack one mutalisk, which isnt the case in perfect micro.

  • Is it possible to play against these AI ?

  • @Filobel I'll grant you that, but you don't explicitly need to stack to gain this effect: you merely need to time all the mutalisk's attacks simultaneously. They don't need to occupy the same location in order to do so. Mutalisks surrounding a target can all strike at the same time as well.

There are a lot of factors to consider... the presence of anti-air splash, the spread of enemy units... it would seem that stacking is highly situational.

  • @laffo16 yeah, in Aug 2011

  • awsome stuff, will their be more compos in the future?

  • this must be the most annoying bot to play against
