The Government Police Low-Income Neighborhood's and Substandard Housing Developments. Minority families are more likely to live in substandard housing where police presence is rampant. BLACK people are more than four times more likely than whites to be stopped and searched in the street by police. Maybe, this is why MORE BLACKS are in Jail than Whites. I hope that ONE DAY I can live in a "COLOR BLIND NATION" where every American is treated with the same respect. R.I.P KATHYRN JOHNSTON

This story reminds me why a large majority of the African-American race doesn't race doesn't respect or trust Law Enforcement in this Country. How can you respect or trust law enforcement agents who impermissibly use race, religion, ethnicity or national origin in deciding who to investigate. I'm a 24 year old white male so, before you try to discredit my comment by saying back's commit the most crime look at why. The Government don't Police middle class neighborhoods like the one I live in.

@FillyK80 Yes, this is a mistake. I have heard conflicting reports on this incident. What I have gathered is that, Kathyrn Johnston, fired one round from an old revolver. One report says she fired into the ceiling and another states she fired over the officers heads. However, the officers were treated for wounds that was inflicted by "friendly fire".
